Finding My Voice
I’m Abby, the founder of Thy Kingdom Come, and my story begins with a deep love for the Gospel and a sincere desire to fulfill the Great Commission. I’ve always cherished my faith, and nothing has ever mattered more to me than seeing others experience the peace, joy, and transformation that Jesus brings. But when it came to evangelism, I found myself wrestling with fear and apprehension. You see, I’m an introvert. The idea of walking up to strangers or even close friends to start conversations about my faith felt daunting. It wasn’t because I was ashamed—far from it. I wanted to share, to make a difference, but traditional approaches often felt like they clashed with my personality. So there I was, passionate about Jesus but feeling out of place with evangelism. During church events or evangelism months, I’d watch others engage with confidence, while I felt like a piece of the puzzle was missing for me.
I knew I wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Many introverted believers want to live out their faith boldly but often find it challenging to initiate conversations. As I prayed and pondered this struggle, I felt a calling to obey Matthew 28:19—“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations”—without having to force myself into someone I wasn’t. My heart was full of love for Christ, but I needed a way to share that love in a way that felt genuine to me.
A New Perspective
One day, while I was reflecting on these challenges, a thought crossed my mind: what if my clothing could help me share my faith? What if I could wear my beliefs in a way that would naturally spark curiosity, inviting others to ask questions? I imagined walking down the street wearing something simple yet powerful—a shirt with a message that spoke to who I am and what I believe in. I realized this could be a solution, not just for me, but for others who feel similarly. I envisioned designs that would communicate the hope and love of Jesus without needing an introduction. The idea was simple but powerful, and I felt a renewed excitement for sharing my faith in this way.
With this idea came a sense of peace and freedom. I knew I didn’t have to conform to a particular style of evangelism that didn’t feel right for me. Instead, I could be myself and trust God to use the message I wore to open doors for meaningful conversations. This was the start of Thy Kingdom Come—not just a clothing line, but a mission. I wanted each piece to carry a message of hope, one that could inspire curiosity and, ultimately, lead people to Christ. I wanted others to feel that they, too, could share their faith without stepping outside their authentic selves.
A Mission to Empower Quiet Confidence in Faith
Thy Kingdom Come became more than a brand; it became a bridge, a way for believers to let their clothing do the talking. With every design, my goal is to empower those who, like me, may feel that evangelism is an uphill battle. I wanted these pieces to be conversation starters, little sparks that could ignite genuine connections without feeling forced. I started creating designs that speak to both the boldness and gentleness of faith—messages that encourage people to ask questions, feel inspired, and maybe even hear the Gospel for the first time.
For anyone who’s ever felt that sharing their faith meant having to step outside of their personality, Thy Kingdom Come is here to show that there’s another way. We don’t have to shout from the rooftops if that’s not who we are. Instead, we can wear our faith in a way that feels true and trust that God will work through it. I truly believe that God uses every personality to reach others, and Thy Kingdom Come is dedicated to supporting that vision. My hope is that each piece not only sparks curiosity in others but also gives the wearer a sense of peace and confidence in sharing the Gospel, quietly yet powerfully.
